Its Official – Please join us for a Charitable Harvest Party!

Previously we expressed interested in an idea to host a Charitable Harvest Party this Fall.  We are happy to announce that we will in fact be throwing his party in the fall!   However, we are changing the date from Sat, October 1 to Sat, October 8 due to some scheduling issues. The weather should still be great. The party starts at 1:00 P.M. and will go into the evening for a bonfire for all who want to stay. Bring your friends who want to have a good time and have a great time with us, helping to raise money for our 3 outstanding charities.

  • We will have lots of fun yard games, including volleyball.
  • We will be serving pulled chicken sandwiches, we just ask everyone to bring something to share. This can be something to go with the sandwiches: a desert, or for those like me  with culinary challenges, a bag of chips! Whatever you would like.  The idea is to share, enjoy the company of people as nice as you   (can ya believe that!)  and have a great time.
  • Please plan to donate some $$$ to one or all of our charities. We will have a container to put your check in to, just remember to put your mailing address on it so that you can receive the charitable giving receipt.  Additionally, we want you to get to know of the great work that these charities do, and maybe join them in their future efforts (there are so many ways to help each of them and info on their respective websites).  After the party we will then total theses donations, forward them to each charity,  and match the total!  In a way, you will really be donating double (is that exciting or what ! ).

Again we thank all who have helped us with planting in the Spring and the harvests in the Fall over the last 9 years. We have enjoyed the Charitable Vineyard concept, and feel that it would have been successful.  The fact that we have met and learned so much about each of you has been a pleasure by itself. The fact that our vineyard was not a success is due to many factors, most importantly 3 Spring frosts and 1 severely cold Winter in 2012.  This spring we have planted 50 dwarf Honeycrisp apple trees and we hope to show you our progress as you join us in a Fall Apple Harvest in 1-2 years.

We hope that the concept of a Charitable Harvest Party works, as something tells us that we may be better at gathering fun people together than we are at growing grapes! So, if the idea sounds like fun and you like what at least one of our 3 charities are doing and are willing to help them do better, then… Plan to come, and bring a friend or two or more: Saturday, October 8,  1 pm start!

We ask you to bring something to share, and we will plan serving a late afternoon dinner of pulled chicken sandwiches. We will then all share whatever everyone brings to go along with the sandwiches.

If this is successful, we will keep doing it… we suspect that we can throw a party like this a lot more years than we can pruning/spraying/tucking/mowing/netting and picking grapes!

We will need to know how many our coming for food and drink, so simply give me a call at 763-354-0880, or let me know in person.  I will then give you our address, directions, and answer and questions. See you on October 8 !

Finally if you didn’t get this News notice by email, then just sign up on our website’s mailing list, or Like us on our Facebook page, and you will get News releases in the future.

Peace and Charity,

Dr James Lee
