Non-Harvest Party was a Success – Raising almost $2,000!
We are happy to announce that with your help and generosity we were able to raise a total of $1999.98 for our 3 charities! All receipts are posted from our Non-Harvest Party of October 8. We can all be proud of this, as it happened because we came together, had a great time on a some what chilly afternoon, and each made a contribution to one of our 3 outstanding charities.
Adding this amount to our Spring 2017 contributions of $600.00 x 3 = $1800.00, we raised a total of $3,799.98 this year. We did well and are very happy we could contribute to our charities!
The vineyard (and apple orchard are going into Winter rest now. Our plan for next Spring is to prune 500 Prairie Star vines, prepare our 50 Honey Crisp Apple trees for growth, and decide what to do with our Marquette vines.
We plan to prune in March and April, and will send out a notice in January. We can use your help in this effort, so watch for our announcement.
Meanwhile, as a result of our efforts;
- Homeless families in the Twin Cities are getting a chance to turn their lives around, thru People Serving People.
- Working low-income families throughout Minnesota are getting safe and affordable housing, thru Habitat For Humanity of Minnesota.
- Youth, particularly girls, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan are getting an education, thus breaking a cycle of ignorance feeding poverty and violence, thru Central Asia Institute.
The improvements in the lives of our fellow inhabitants of this beautiful planet happens because we came together, cared, and helped make this a reality. We continue to believe that when we help others to have a better life, our lives become more rich and full, as we our all ultimately connected.
We THANK YOU again for joining us to make our world a better place!
Have a safe, warm, and prosperous Winter… see you in 2017.
Peace and Charity,
Lost Creek Hippies Vineyard
