2nd Annual Fall F(und) Raising Party News

We are so happy to announce that, with your help and generosity, we not only had a great time at our September 30 party, but raised $1,505.00, which we matched, for a total of $3010.00 donated to our 3 charities. See the receipts for these donations in our Financial Section.

We also had a small harvest of 780 pounds of our Prairie Star grapes, which we sold for an income of $546.00. Receipts also in Financial Section.

Adding this to our Spring 2017 contributions of $4,000.00, we raised a total of $7,556.00 this year!

As a result of all of our Board Member’s hard work and your involvement and contributions:

• Homeless families in the Twin Cities are getting a chance to turn their lives around and join our community in a positive and productive fashion, through People Serving People.

• Working low income families throughout Minnesota are getting safe and affordable housing, improving not only  their lives but all around them, through Habitat For Humanity of Minnesota.

• Youth, particularly girls, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan are getting an education, and breaking a cycle of ignorance feeding poverty and violence. Education leads to knowledge, financial success, and peace, through Central Asia Institute.

All of us should know that we have made our world a better place. The changes in the lives of our fellow inhabitants of this “pale blue dot”, our beautiful planet Earth, happens because we came together with our generosity, worked hard and became successful.  As such, we will continue to do what we are doing. We know that when we help our fellow human beings to live a better life, our lives become fuller and richer in so many ways, as we are all ultimately connected.

Now our vineyard rests. Fall weed-killer has been applied. In the Spring we plan to continue to expand our apple orchard and trim our Prairie Star vines. We will post a News item in this regard in February, as we have so appreciated the help we have received from those who have help us with Spring Pruning and hope that you can join us in March and April.
