A fantastic 2012 and looking forward to Spring 2013

2012 was an exciting and challenging year for us, and we’re looking forward to a Winter of rest from our many vineyard tasks. The vineyard basically “rests” now, as the vine trunks harden for cold tolerance, concentrating solutes, thus lowering each living cell’s freezing point to -35F, in order to survive our Midwest winter.

We are, however, looking forward to 2013, and want you to consider again joining us in our Charitable Vineyard activity. We are tentatively planning for 2013 as follows.

We plan to plant 250 Prairie Star vines on Sat, June 1, and, harvest our 750 mature Marquette vines on about Sept 14.

We want and expect to make both events fun, with good food and drinks, and great conversations with all of us returning volunteers and new friends who you may suggest to join us. Each year we hope and plan to increase our contributions to our 3 charities, as our vines mature and become more productive. In this way we will realize our goal: We have good times, growing great grapes, helping 3 outstanding charities make our world a better place.

As usual, all our invited to stop and visit us and our/your vineyard anytime… just give us a call or email, we’d love to see you and be able to take the time to talk, and share a glass of wine.

Have a warm, safe, and healthy winter, and see you in the Spring !
