4th Annual Fun(d) Raising Party!

Hi to all, hope you are having a relaxing Summer. As usual, we are busy but we make it that way, so we’re to blame!

The Prairie Star vines in the vineyard are doing great, after a slow start and our apples look fairly healthy, although we will only have 5-10 bushels (expected after the severe pruning we performed this Spring).

We are looking forward to seeing each and everyone who reads this on Saturday, September 14, for our 4th Annual Fun(d) Raising Party at our farm, vineyard and apple orchard in Pepin, Wisconsin. We will be starting at 1:00 PM or so with many yard games including; the famous “Corn Hole” playoffs, croquet and volleyball.  Drinks and appetizers of all kinds will be served along with a tasty dinner (Linda won’t tell me what yet!) about 5:00 PM. That will be followed by more games and talking, talking, talking, as it is so much fun for us to catch up with everyone!  We so look forward to reconnecting with everyone who has attended before and/or helped with planting and picking in the past years since our first harvest in 2010.

Bring friends and/or family. We so enjoy meeting your friends, because they are bound to be as warm and friendly as you! If you would like to bring an appetizer or dessert to share, that would be great but don’t worry if you get a bit busy.

It really helps if we know how many are coming for dinner and beverage planning. If you are lost, I’ll give you directions  so call me at 763-354-0880.

We just bottled our newest delicious wine, our 2019 Altered States Apple and we are eager to give each and everyone a bottle and as usual we are matching your donation any amount to one of our 3 charities 1 to 1.

Lost Creek Hippies Vineyard has been so proud to be a small part in improving the lives of our neighbors by supporting 3 outstanding charities:

People Serving People in Minneapolis, helping homeless families with children by providing safe temporary housing, while addressing the root causes of their conditions through medical, psychological, and educational interventions.

Habitat For Humanity of Minnesota, helping deserving low income persons and families acquire and own safe, healthy, and affordable housing, thus not only immensely improving their lives but stabilizing our communities.

Central Asia Institute, Bozeman, Montana, providing education to youth and adults, mainly girls, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan, thus helping to break the vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty, and violence.

We know that these 3 charities  make lives of our local, state , and international neighbors better, and your involvement is so important in fulfilling our mission . We hope that you are able to adopt and help one of these charities and spread the word about them to your family and friends. In this way, we hope to have a positive effect of our efforts far beyond our yearly contributions.

We continue to believe that we our all ultimately connected, and that when a family in Minneapolis or Thief River Falls does better or a girl in Pakistan completes a high school education and returns to her community and improves many lives, that we all benefit! We are all on this beautiful planet together, for the better through all of our efforts!
