A Spring (Finally) Update from the Orchard!

Finally it feels like Spring has arrived and Summer is around the corner! We have continued to make gradual progress in our Apple Orchard. Last Fall and Winter we finally secured the area from the predations of deer and rabbits, with 9-10 foot high barbed wire, Irish Spring soap on socks, and twirling old CDs. We’re planting another 10 or so Honeycrisp trees in a few weeks, and keeping all the other 35 trees properly tended and free from insects and other predators.

We are most excited about our upcoming Annual Fall Fun(d) Raising Party starting at 1pm on Saturday, September 10. This will be another fun-filled afternoon of conversation, fun and games, drinks and dinner, and a bottle of our Altered States Apple Wine to all who attend. Plan now to join us, and bring family and friends who share our mission of helping others while having a great time.

So far this year, we have made donations of $1,000 to each of our 3 charities.  See the “Financial Donations” section of our website to view the receipts.   This as a thanks for the many hours of seemingly endless pruning by Jim, Stacy, Brand, Jim and Linda – great memories of sore muscles!

We have said it before, but it bears repeating: we are all connected, and when we help others thrive, our lives become fuller and richer. We are all part of One Human Family!
