Another Successful Fall FUNdraiser Party!

Our 4th Annual Fund Raising Party, on Saturday, September 14, was a success in many ways:
  • The 40 guests had a fun time meeting new people and connecting with old friends.
  • Many “Corn Hole” and Bocce Ball games were played.
We were so fortunate to have the most beautiful and enjoyable music and singing! Two groups played:
  • Herb, Connie and Mike played and sang old favorites, hippie tunes, and their own tunes.
  • Terry, Cal and Don ( Trio Tipo ) played the most beautiful and melodious music!
Appetizers and desserts of all kinds were shared, and we served a dinner of pulled pork and salads: delicious!
Several bottles of our 2015 and 2019 Altered States Apple wine ( and some other wines, beers, and other beverages ) were enjoyed.
The contributions from 19 individuals and couples totaled $2,375.00:
We matched the $2,375.00, sending checks to our 3 charities totaling $4,750.00!
All guests left with a bottle of our homemade Altered States Apple wine of their choice.
We had an absolute joy hosting this party! We had such a good time talking with everyone, and only wish we had 2-3 hours to chat with each and everyone who attended. We are already looking forward to our 5th Annual Fund Raising Party on Saturday, September 12, 2020, and strongly encourage you who attended and all who have came and helped us in so many ways in the past to join us again in 2020. Put it on your calendar!
We started our vineyard in 2007, and dedicated our efforts to making a small but significant difference in making our world a more peaceful and joyful place to live, as we strongly believe that we are all really connected: when a neighbor near or far does better, we all in the human family benefit:
  • People Serving People: Helping homeless families in the twin cities gain stability, leading to a future of safe housing, school, and employment.
  • Habitat For Humanity of Minnesota: Helping lower income individuals and families acquire ownership of safe and affordable housing, thus stabilizing their lives and their communities.
  • Central Asia Institute: Educating young and older persons, primarily girls, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan , thus helping to break the cycle of ignorance leading to violence and poverty in this region.
We plan to harvest 4 rows of our Prairie Star grapes, about 1,500 pounds, and about 400 pounds of apples on Thursday, October 3. We plan start at roughly 11:00 am, and deliver the harvests by 3-4 pm. If you can help us at that time, we could really ( absolutely ! ) appreciate a hand ! Give me a call at 763-354-0880, leaving your name if it goes to phone mail, and I’ll fill you in with details. You will again help us help our charities, as we are planning to donate all income received to our 3 charities. Again, we are and will make our world better!
As we have said so many times, if your travels take you out to the Pepin area at any time, give us a call, as we would love to have you who have helped us stop by and visit with us if we are at the farm/vineyard at that time.
As usual, the receipts for all donations from our 3 charities will be posted to our Financial Section within a month, and we will give you a heads up News notice at that time. We know we have said it before, but sign up on our website mailing list to get News notices, as this is our  way to keep communication of our events and progress.
Peace, Love, and Charity,
Lost Creek Hippies Vineyard
