Spring is in the air at Lost Creek Hippies Vineyard!

It feels like Spring at Lost Creek Vineyards and Summer is around the corner! We have continued to make gradual progress in our Apple Orchard. The orchard remains secured from the predations of deer and rabbits, with 9-10 foot high barbed wire fence, Irish Spring soap in socks, and twirling old CDs. We’re planting another 10 or so Honeycrisp trees in a few weeks, and keeping all the other 28 properly tended and free from insects and other predators.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our Annual Fall Fun(d) Raising Party starting at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9. This will be another fun-filled afternoon of conversation, fun games, drinks and dinner. You will also be taking home a bottle of our Altered States Apple Wine. Plan now to join us, and bring family and friends who are like minded in wanting to help make the world a better place for all.

So far this year, we have made donations of $1,000 to each of our 3 charities. See the “Financial Donations” section of our website to view the receipts. These spring donations are made in honor of all who have helped out in any way in our vineyard or orchard, and/or have attended our fundraisers to donate their time and/or money to the benefit of others.

Each of our 3 charities continue on with their missions, and we ( and you ) are proud to be a small part in their successes:

  • Hope Coalition: Providing advocacy for battered women and their children to be safe and find safe and affordable long term housing.
  • Habitat For Humanity of Minnesota: Helping low income individuals and families acquire quality affordable housing and owning these houses, with a resultant improvement in their communities health and safety.
  • Central Asia Institute: Promoting education and livelihood skills, especially for girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.

We have said it before – but it bears repeating: we are all connected and when we help others thrive, our lives become fuller and richer. We are all part of One Human Family!

Should your travels bring you down to the Pepin area, give us a call (763-354-0880) and if we’re around, you are welcome to stop by and visit. We’d love taking a break to chat.
